The Student Alumni Board (SAB) and Student Alumni Association (SAA), formerly REAL Razorbacks, are taking on a new look and structure beginning this school year. SAB has served as the primary outreach from the Association to the student body for over 12 years. R.E.A.L. Jessica Sharbaugh Receives 2010 "Roads" Scholarship

Published on July 28th, 2010 by Robin January

“The wonderful gift of $2,500 through the Roads Scholarship means a lot to me as I conclude my journey with the University. When I found out about receiving the award, my fiancé took me out to dinner. While driving there, I pointed out every vehicle on the road and in the parking lot with a University of Arkansas license plate and said ‘There’s someone who helped fund my next year of school. And there’s one. And there’s another one.’ I threatened to start putting thank you notes on each of those cars I saw in the parking lot. My fiancé thought I was nuts. I was delighted. The alumni who give that extra bit of money each year with their car’s registration cannot understand how quickly their little gift adds up, or how much it can mean to a needy student like me.”

Once she received the opportunity to attend the University of Arkansas, “there was no doubt” that’s where she belonged. Dyer had always loved the traditions of the university and its Razorbacks, so to be able to play in both Barnhill and Bud Walton arenas, she felt “honored to wear the red and white uniform.”
